Starting from Scratch: From Basic Fitness to Confident Calisthenics
When she joined Famba Fitness, Barbara could do some push-ups and basic movements but she had never managed a pull-up. She had been active for years, attending gym classes and bootcamps, but found that the results were limited and inconsistent. She wanted a more targeted approach, focusing on building strength and improving mobility, and that’s exactly what she achieved over the year.
Motivated by a little friendly competition with her sister, Barbara set her primary goal: do her first pull-up.
Barbara trained 2 to 3 times per week in our group personal training lessons in Rembrandtpark Amsterdam West. On days she couldn’t attend, she followed her personalised program at home or while traveling.
After one year, Barbara mastered pull-ups, push-ups, and single-leg squats, and is now moving into intermediate calisthenics skills. Beyond strength, she gained mobility, energy, and confidence, improvements far beyond what she had achieved in her previous gym classes.
Flexible Calisthenics Training Program
The group lessons run Mondays & Wednesdays at 6 pm, Fridays at 8 am, and Saturdays at 9 am, Barbara attended the sessions that fit her schedule, while completing independent workouts on other days. Over the year, she completed four progressive training cycles, each designed to improve strength, mobility, and calisthenics skills.
