Total Beginners Can Start CALISTHENICS With This Workout

Beginner Calisthenics Workout | 8 Calisthenics Exercises To Start Your Journey In Amsterdam

One of the biggest reasons people don’t start calisthenics training isn’t a lack of motivation, it’s confusion.

There is so much information out there. You scroll through Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok and see handstands, muscle-ups, planches, levers… and while it’s inspiring, it can also be overwhelming. You want to start, but you don’t know what steps to take first. And because of that, a lot of people end up not starting at all.

Even though the urge is there, it doesn’t feel as simple as “just go to the gym in Amsterdam and lift some weights.”

Calisthenics is simple, but without the right insight, it can seem far more complicated than it actually is.

And that’s exactly where we come in at Famba Fitness.

Our goal has always been to strip back the complexity, to remove the confusion, and to bring calisthenics back to what it truly is: simple, effective, and accessible bodyweight training, for anyone who’s willing to start this journey.

Now’s The Time To Start Calisthenics

We’re now in the final month of the year, December.

This is the time when most people start thinking about changing their habits, when they start saying: “I’ll begin in the new year.” But the truth is, New Year’s resolutions have been proven again and again to be ineffective.

They’re often built on guilt, pressure, and a sudden spike in motivation, not on real, sustainable habits.

That’s why starting before the new year is actually one of the most powerful things you can do.

No pressure. No dramatic “January 1st” energy.

Just a simple, intentional decision to begin, right now.

Bit by bit. Step by step.

Your First Step Into Calisthenics Training

To help remove the confusion completely, I’ve created a complete beginner calisthenics workout that you can follow as your first official step into the world of calisthenics.

This is actually the same assessment routine I use with complete beginners in their very first session at Famba group personal training, in Amsterdam West.

This calisthenics workout covers:

  • Upper body

  • Lower body

  • Core

  • Push movements

  • Pull movements

  • Shoulders, spine, and hips

  • Joint strength, stability, and mobility

It allows you (and me) to understand:

  • How strong you currently are

  • How stable your joints are

  • How mobile your body is

  • How well you can control your movement

  • Where your weak links are

  • Where you need to improve

It gives you clarity on where you’re starting from, and that’s powerful.

While I won’t be physically there with you when you do it, this routine will allow you to get your body training calisthenics, to start building strength, mobility, control, and confidence.

And most importantly: it gets you out of your head and into action.

What the Calisthenics Workout Looks Like

In the video below, you’ll find a routine made up of 8 calisthenics exercises, organised into supersets. It will take you less than one hour to complete.

This is all you need to begin.

No fancy gym machines.
No complicated plan.
Just calisthenics, strength, mobility, and control.

If you’ve been putting this off… if you’ve been telling yourself you’ll start “soon”… this is your sign.
